Patrick S. McGonigle Obituary, MAPLE SHADE, N.J. — Patrick S. McGonigle, a proud U.S. Navy veteran, devoted husband and father, and cherished member of the Maple Shade community, passed away on July 24, 2026, at the age of 39. His passing has left family, friends, and those who knew him mourning the loss of a man remembered for his service, generosity, and unwavering loyalty.
Born on March 22, 1987, Patrick was the eleventh of twelve children in the close-knit McGonigle family. Growing up surrounded by a large family, he developed strong values centered on compassion, responsibility, and supporting those around him. Those principles remained a defining part of his character throughout his life.
Patrick was known by friends and loved ones as someone who could always be relied upon. He had a reputation for putting others first, offering support during difficult times, and being present whenever someone needed help. His kindness and willingness to serve others made a lasting impression on many people who had the opportunity to know him.
A 2006 graduate of Maple Shade High School, Patrick was active in football and wrestling, experiences that helped shape his discipline, determination, and resilience. After attending Williamson Trade School and developing a passion for carpentry, he pursued a path of service by joining the United States Navy.
During his five years of military service, Patrick proudly served as a member of the Navy’s Construction Battalion, known as the Seabees. He embraced the unit’s motto, “We Build, We Fight,” while serving at locations including Diego Garcia, Japan, Afghanistan, Bahrain, and Iraq. His military career reflected his commitment to duty, service, and sacrifice.
Outside of his service in the Navy, Patrick was deeply devoted to his family and friends. He was remembered as a loving husband, caring father, and loyal friend whose presence brought strength and support to those closest to him.
