Alexis Dare Obituary – Interstate 10 Accident Update — A 33-year-old Desert Hot Springs woman, Alexis Dare, was killed following a rollover crash on Interstate 10 near the Cactus Rest Area early Wednesday morning, according to authorities.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that the collision occurred in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 when a Tesla traveling in the No. 1 lane was struck from behind by a Kia Forte. Investigators said the Kia was reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed before the crash.
According to CHP officials, the driver of the Kia failed to reduce speed to match changing traffic conditions ahead. The impact of the rear-end collision caused both vehicles to lose control and overturn into the center median.
Alexis Dare, who was a passenger in the Kia Forte, was ejected from the vehicle during the rollover. Emergency responders arrived at the scene and provided medical assistance, but Dare suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead.
Authorities said other occupants of both vehicles were evaluated following the crash. Officials have not released further information about the extent of any additional injuries.
