Tyrone M. Cooper Obituary, DINWIDDIE COUNTY, Va. — Tyrone M. Cooper, 41, of North Dinwiddie, Virginia, has died following a three-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle, an SUV, and a passenger car on Boydton Plank Road (Route 1) Monday evening, July 27, 2026.
According to the Virginia State Police, the fatal collision occurred at approximately 7:57 p.m. in the 6800 block of Boydton Plank Road in Dinwiddie County. The crash involved Cooper, who was operating a 2002 Kawasaki motorcycle, along with a 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe and a 2019 Honda Accord.
Preliminary information from investigators indicates that the Chevrolet Tahoe was attempting to make a left turn when it entered the path of the northbound motorcycle traveling along Route 1. The motorcycle struck the Tahoe, causing Cooper to lose control and leave the roadway before colliding with the Honda Accord, which was exiting a nearby parking lot.
Virginia State Police confirmed that Cooper suffered fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead. Authorities also confirmed that he was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision. No passengers were inside any of the three vehicles involved.
Following the preliminary investigation, the driver of the Chevrolet Tahoe was charged with failure to yield right of way while turning left under Virginia Code § 46.2-820 and driving while a license was revoked or suspended under Virginia Code § 46.2-301. Authorities have not released the identity of the Tahoe driver.
Investigators said there was no indication that alcohol or drugs contributed to the crash. The driver of the Honda Accord was not reported to have suffered serious injuries, and no other individuals were involved.
