Kylie Hoogendorn Obituary, ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Kylie Hoogendorn, 23, has died following a single-vehicle crash in East Anchorage on Tuesday, according to the Anchorage Police Department.
Authorities identified Hoogendorn as the woman who was killed after the vehicle she was driving left the roadway and crashed into a light pole near the intersection of Northern Lights Boulevard and UAA Drive.
According to the Anchorage Police Department, Hoogendorn was traveling eastbound on Northern Lights Boulevard in a GMC Sierra when the vehicle veered off the roadway and struck a light pole located at the southeast corner of the intersection.
Emergency responders arrived shortly after the collision and found the pickup truck heavily damaged. Hoogendorn suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two juvenile passengers were also inside the vehicle at the time of the crash. Both juveniles were transported to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries. Authorities have not released additional information regarding their current conditions or their relationship to Hoogendorn.
Following the crash, officers closed the area around Northern Lights Boulevard and UAA Drive for several hours while traffic investigators examined the scene and documented evidence. All lanes were reopened by approximately 6:30 a.m. Wednesday after the investigation at the scene was completed and the damaged vehicle was removed.
The Anchorage Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. Officials have not released details about what caused the vehicle to leave the roadway, and no additional information has been provided while the investigation remains active.
